Philip K. Houston, III, "Phil", 68, beloved husband of Hope (Watts) Houston of St. Petersburg, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Largo Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1953, to Philip and Joy Houston in Wallace, Idaho, and had lived in St. Petersburg since 1964. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Hope, his brother Robert (Kelli) of Orlando, and several nieces and nephews. 

Phil retired from teaching at Pinellas Technical Education Center after 30 years. He was co-founder of the Florida Museum of Holography, and enjoyed making holograms and teaching holography classes. He held a lifelong interest in boating. Phil was an astronomy enthusiast and in retirement enjoyed deep-sky astrophotography and solar imaging using telescopes and specialized filters and lenses. He was active on several astrophotography and solar imaging forums and enjoyed collaborating with others on their shared passion.

Services will be held at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. M.L. King Jr. Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33704 on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Visitation will start at 1 P.M. with a Funeral Service to follow at 2 P.M.

Philip Houston (NEHI Class of 1972) was the brother-in-law of Faith (Watts) Daley (NEHI Class of 1972).
