45th Class Reunion

Dear NEHI Class of '72

We made some more great memories and talked about our dreams at our 45th reunion on September 22 - 24. We tackled our cozy Villa accommodations and enjoyed old and new stories and tacos on Friday night.

Saturday morning started early with our group meandering in to partake of the continental breakfast that was provided and more sharing, laughter and camaraderie!

Our weekend is never complete without a little friendly activity, and you Vikings still have it in you.  Our gallant teams were headed by Elizabeth 'Holly' Haslup Lowe, Kevin Walkover and Jim Brown or was that Rick Bennett?. From the BOOST chugging contest, to rescuing the 'damsels' in distress with our teams packed on the paddleboats, to tennis volley, tug of war, and the mile high slide, they proved NEHI Vikings are gallant, heroic, and brave!  You would have had to witness the hilarity with Art Williams yelling from the back of his paddleboat that they were taking on water.  I never knew that they could sink, but apparently they can.  They figured it out and made it back to the dock safely :).

Saturday evening was well done by the Tradewinds staff with a delicious buffet and friendly staff.  More laughter, stories, dancing, and dreams made!!! We ended the evening at the water's edge with a tribute to the 50+ classmates who have already passed as we launched our 'Viking ship' out into the Gulf.

Thank you to  all who traveled from near and far to bring your stories, and memories  and share this weekend with us.  We missed those of you who would have loved to be here but just could not make it.  Stay in touch, we are already brainstorming about a 65th birthday party in the future, and the 50th reunion will be here 'in a blink of the eye'!

We welcome your input and thoughts about time of  year, venues, and particulars for any future gatherings.

Until we meet again, God bless you richly,

Lisa Smith Rico
